The country is yet to come out of the sweet memory of its cricket team’s historic Australia tour. After winning the Test series 2-1 earlier this month, Virat Kohli’s men won the bilateral ODI series 2-1 as well, after losing the first match in Sydney. India batted second on all three occasions and won the final two games and former captain MS Dhoni played a crucial role in both instances. The 37-year-old Dhoni, who returned to form after a long dry spell, was adjudged the Man of the Series.

Dhoni had his share of luck in the third ODI in Melbourne on Friday but made use of the opportunity to register 87 not out as India chased down 231 with four balls and seven wickets to spare. It was an identical finish by the limited-overs legend who hit 55 not out off 54 balls in the second game in Adelaide. India won on that occasion by 6 wickets.

Sakshi Dhoni did not hide her adulation for her husband

The ace wicket-keeper’s wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni was as ecstatic as other Indian fans after the national team’s victory and besides congratulating the team, the former compared her husband to a “soldier” who fought “long and hard” in the glorious triumph.

Here’s Sakshi’s post

Sakshi has been known to be passionate and caring about her iconic husband. In the past, when critics had backed the move of removing Dhoni from the captaincy when he was not playing for the suspended Chennai Super Kings, the former had come to his defence, asking people to refrain from hurting people or it could boomerang at some stage in life. She has also been spotted in the stands enjoying her husband’s hard-hitting style of batting when playing for India.

Dhoni married Sakshi, who hails from Dehradun, in July 2010 and the two have a daughter named Ziva who was born when the cricketer was busy leading his team in the ICC World Cup of 2015.
