Sakshi Dhoni, wife of former India skipper MS Dhoni, celebrated her birthday in grand fashion in Mumbai recently. Many known names from Bollywood as well as the cricketing fraternity attended the party including Team India all rounder Hardik Pandya. She was overwhelmed with all the wishes and in the process, also revealed the name of the person who was responsible to bring her and Mahi together in one of her social media.

Sakshi’s birthday was on November 19 but the party was organised on the weekend at St. Regis in Mumbai as she, along with MS Dhoni and daughter Ziva, looked extremely adorable. Among the attendants, one of her close friends, Poorna Patel also graced her presence.

Sakshi reveals the name

Sakshi, shared many pictures on social media about the party including the ones with Karnataka batsman, Robin Uthappa and his wife. However, the caption of the picture has grabbed the eyeballs of everyone. Sakshi has revealed that Uthappa is the reason why she and MS Dhoni are together. The caption read, “Thanks to this man here Mahi n i r together !!! It was great meeting u Robbie and Sheethal … Thank u guys for coming and lot’s of cuddles to the lil one !”

No mention about Uthappa in the movie

The couple’s love story was portrayed in Dhoni’s biopic, ‘MS Dhoni- The Untold Story’ which was released a few years ago, where it was shown that Dhoni and Sakshi met at a hotel but there was no reference of Uthappa in the movie.

As it is shown in the film, the couple were school friends and incidentally met at Taj Bengal where Sakshi was an intern and met the Indian captain, who was her childhood friend in the internship. They were introduced to each other by Dhoni’s Manager, Yudhajit Dutta as they were meeting after a gap of nearly 10 years in the City of Joy.

The swashbuckling wicket-keeper batsman, was in the city as the team was going to play an ODI against Pakistan at Eden Gardens in November- December 2007.
