While the praises have been flowing in from many parts of the globe for Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Sanath Jayasuriya has also joined in the congratulations. The former Sri Lankan skipper went on to state that he was certainly wowed by the way Kohli led the Indian side to what was a clinical 4-0 result rather than one filled with emotion and other such drawbacks.

Jayasuriya, who was part of the Sri Lanka side that beat England in their first ever Test series in 1998 certainly knows a thing or two about clinching wins against England. The 47-year old went on to state that the Indian team was in rhythm at the moment and something that has helped them defeat a strong team such as England.

“Team India is in rhythm. Defeating even a strong team like England comfortably,” Jayasuriya told reporters.

Jayasuriya went on to add a few words on Virat Kohli stating that he was a good skipper and someone who leads from the front as well. “He is a good captain and marshaling bowlers well. He himself is delivering good performances,” Jayasuriya said.

Having done the job himself during his glory days, Sanath Jayasuriya went on to add that this was not really an easy job given the mountains of pressure one has to deal with being the skipper of the side. “It’s not an easy job. One has to have tremendous patience to reach such a milestone,” Jayasuriya said appreciating the extraordinary performance from Nair.

Finally, the 47-year old batting legend also went on to add belief to the coaching stint of Anil Kumble stating that success will come to him eventually. “He (Kumble) has just begun his new career as a coach. Just like he was a great bowler, Anil will be a great success in his new role as the coach too,” Jayasuriya concluded.
