On 24th April 1973, one of the greatest cricketers in the history of the game stepped into this planet. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar will have a chapter to himself in the book of cricket. He has broken all milestones known to a batsman and has achieved everything in the cricket field. Moreover, he will also be remembered for the man he was off the field. Cricket is a gentleman’s game and Sachin certainly played a major role in helping it stay that way.

Two legends

Saqlain Mushtaq, the man behind creating the off-spinners doorsa was one of the greatest spinners of his time. Mushtaq contributed significantly to Pakistan cricket as he took 208 wickets in just 49 tests. He was the fastest to reach 100 ODI wickets and his immaculate control meant that he more or less bowled in the death overs, with reasonable success.  Saqlain Mushtaq had a heartfelt message for Sachin on his birthday.

He tweeted,”Long live legend @sachin_rt #one of The best batsman ever #great inspiration #great human.”

In the famous 1999 test match between India and Pakistan in Chennai, Saqlain dismissed Sachin Tendulkar which sparked a late order collapse after India looked set to win the match. He went on to claim 20 wickets in the two-match series and became an instant hero in Pakistan and Saqlain achieved legendary status with his show.

Tendulkar has amassed over 34000 runs in International cricket and no other player have come close to breaking the record. The Bharat Ratna awardee spent 25 years in international cricket and was a great servant of Indian cricket. He deserves everything that he has now and nothing can be taken away from him. Fans from all over the world are wishing the little master on his birthday and India is lucky to have Sachin among its ranks. His contribution to Indian cricket will never be forgotten.
