Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar celebrated the victory of India Legends in the Road Safety World Series 2020-21. The final was played between the Tendulkar-led India Legends side and Sri Lanka Legends. On Sunday, India beat Sri Lanka by 14 runs at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.

After the final ball was bowled and India Legends won the match, Sara Tendulkar shared an Instagram story in which we could see that she was watching the match on television. She took a video of the match ending with a wicket and shared it on her Instagram. Sara is an ardent cricket fan and she has been spotted in the cricket stadium at times.

On the Instagram story, she had written ‘Yay’ as well. The match was not close one as it had gone down to the wire. However, unlike, the semi-final, India Legends were always ahead in the match. With the wicket of Farveez Maharoof, the Sri Lanka Legends lost the match. It was sort of like a deja vu moment for some players.

Yuvraj Singh and Pathan brothers script a fantastic win

Back before 10 years in 2011, India beat Sri Lanka in the World Cup final in Mumbai at the Wankhede stadium. Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Munaf Patel and Yusuf Pathan were part of that squad and also played this Road Safety World Series final in Raipur. On the other hand, players like Chamara Silva, Rangana Herath and Tillakaratne Dilshan were part of both the Sri Lankan teams from 2011 and 2021.

In the final in Raipur, India got off to a bad start after losing Sehwag and Subramaniam Badrinath in the powerplay. Tendulkar got out for 30 from 23 balls in the 11th over. At this point, Yusuf Pathan and Yuvraj Singh got together for a partnership. The duo produced a partnership of 85 runs from 47 balls.

Singh ended with 60 runs off 41 balls while Yusuf scored 62 runs off 36 balls helping India’s total to 181 for 4 in 20 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka got a positive start with Dilshan and Sanath Jayasuriya. But regular strikes jolted their hopes of winning the title. Irfan Pathan and his brother Yusuf were the picks of the bowlers with two scalps each.
