Team Pakistan skipper, Sarfraz Ahmed, recently oozed confidence ahead of the team’s next international assignment. The men in green are all set to tour New Zealand for limited overs action. They will play 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is on the tour. The PCB had recently announced the 15-member squad for the tour. Unfortunately for Pakistan, three of their key players were not named in the side.

They had to be omitted from the squad owing to their respective injury concerns. These three premier bowlers were Junaid Khan, Usman Shinwari and Imad Wasim. Despite the loss of three top players of the team, skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, as per the quotes in Zee News, remarked that the team still has quality bowlers to excel in the New Zealand conditions.

It`s unfortunate that three of our key bowlers are injured but we still have good bowlers who can trouble New Zealand. We have done the best preparation for the tour and all the players are in good form so we will do our best on the New Zealand tour” quoted Sarfraz Ahmed.

On batting challenges

Speaking on the same not, Sarfraz added that every player in the squad has the experience of playing in New Zealand except Fakhar Zaman. The players are pretty much aware of the challenges that will come their way on the tour. He expects the batting to come good in the tough conditions down under. The series commences with the first ODI to be played on January 6.

“Apart from opener Fakhar Zaman, all other players have played in New Zealand before so they know about the tough conditions and about the New Zealand team. So we are ready for the challenges. We have a strong bowling unit and I am sure that the batting will also come good in tough conditions in New Zealand,” quoted Sarfraz.
