Former New Zealand all rounder, Scott Styris is enjoying his career as a commentator. He is currently in India giving commentary in the Tamil Nadu Premier League(TNPL). He had an interactive session with the students of the GRD College of Science, where he talked about many aspects.

Scott Styris mentioned MS Dhoni and former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming as his favourite captains. He had played under the captaincy of Stephen Fleming for a long time in New Zealand. He also played under Dhoni’s captaincy at CSK where Fleming was the coach.

MS leads by example

He seemingly enjoyed his stint at CSK and was full of praise for MSD. He mentioned the fact that former Indian captain treated players equally. Former New Zealand all rounder was full of praise for Fleming too and said that Fleming was not authoritative.

“MSD leads by example. He treats every player equally – be it the senior players or the junior most. On the other hand, Stephen Fleming was the captain who would guide you with the right amount of words at the right time. He was never authoritative.” Styris said as quoted by the TOI

Styris happy to see CSK back

Scott Styris said he loved to be part Chennai Super Kings(CSK) and is happy to see CSK coming back. “It (CSK) is the best team in the IPL. It is like a family. All players come together when the team needs it,” he said.

New Zealander looking for talents in TNPL

The former all-rounder was full of praise for TNPL, calling it the biggest league at the level. He further added that he is looking at some emerging talents in the league.

“TNPL is the biggest platform at its level that helps youngsters to find a place in the Indian Premier League (IPL). I have been looking at 10-12 players who are emerging as the best talent. Besides, I have seen great improvement among few players from the previous season,” said Styris.
