Sri Lankan all-rounder, Seekuge Prasanna, recently joined the list of cricketers with Dab celebrations. It is a common sight for sportsmen to engage in the typical celebrations which originated from soccer. Footballers such as Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Paulo Dybala are hailed as the ‘Dab Kings’.
The first time the Sri Lankan leg spinner dabbed was during their famous tour to Sri Lanka where they whitewashed the 3 match series Down Under. Since then, he has only dabbed occasionally. KL Rahul recently claimed a brilliant reflex catch off the bowling of Ashwin field while fielding at forward short leg during one of the Test matches last month.
He then raced towards mid wicket and waited for his skipper to join him with his celebration. The images of the two Royal Challengers Bangalore teammates dabbing together was one of the few highlights in an overall dismal series.

Cricketers such as Wayne Parnell, Carlos Brathwaite, and Usman Khawaja are renowned for bringing in this form of celebration into the game of cricket while players like Umar Akmal is responsible for ruining it.
The incident involving Seekuge Prasanna occurred during the One-off T20I match at RPS, Colombo. After posting a total of 170, Sri Lanka was facing the wrath of KL Rahul’s blade as he was threatening to pull off something substantial in the limited-over-leg of the tour. Rahul failed to register even a half century in coloured clothing for India during the Lankan tour.
Dashun Shanaka pulled off a blinder of a catch at covers during the sixth over of Indian reply. Watching his teammate fly across the turf to pick up a screamer, Prassana could not resist and gave KL Rahul a dose of his own medicine. Although Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey ensured that the team won comfortably at the end, Sri Lankan T20 team displayed endless moments of spark which was missing throughout the tour.
