T10 League to be played by legends

The inaugural edition of the T10 League has been met with approval from cricketers all over the globe, including the likes of Misbah-ul-Haq, Afridi and Eoin Morgan. The “Maratha Arabians” franchise, which is co-owned by Bollywood film actor, Sohail Khan, has been able to rope in new-age Pakistan sensation, Fakhar Zaman to feature alongside Sehwag and Sangakkara. The league will consist of six teams and officials from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh cricket boards are expected to co-manage two teams, Colombo Lions and Bangla Tigers.

Speaking on the inclusion of Akram into the team, team owner Parvez Khan said to Sporstar, “Akram’s expertise will help the young bowlers and he will guide the team accordingly. With Sehwag around, we are hoping for a great season.”

One of the team officials confirmed the news and added, “Akram knows the conditions in Sharjah well and that will help the side do better in the tournament.”

This is not the first stint at coaching for Akram as he’s been a regular coach-cum-mentor for the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both Akram and Sehwag are expected to be present at the players’ draft, which is to be held in Dubai on November 5.
