Sehwag to play alongside Sachin in All Stars T20 league: Virender Sehwag has become the latest high-profile former cricketer to confirm his participation at the inaugural Cricket All-Stars series which is the brainchild of Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne. Batting Maestro Tendulkar on Tuesday welcomed Sehwag by taking to twitter.

This also means that Sehwag will miss a part of Haryana’s Ranji Trophy campaign. The aggressive opener scored a century against Karnataka in his last match in Mysore. Earlier this month, Sehwag took retirement from international cricket after a glorious career spanning 14 years.

The Warne-Tendulkar league, which will feature retired international cricketers, is all set to get underway in the United States early next month.The 28 cricketers will be divided into two teams, led by Sachin and Warne. Apart from Sehwag the big names include Sourav Ganguly, Kumar Sangakkara, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, Brian Lara and Wasim Akram.

Here is the complete list:

India: Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Ajit Agarkar, Virender Sehwag

England: Michael Vaughan, Graeme Swann

Australia: Shane Warne, Ricky Ponting, Glen McGrath, Mathew Hayden, Andrew Symonds

New Zealand: Daniel Vettori

Sri Lanka: Muttiah Muralitharan, Mahela Jayawardena, Kumar Sangakkara

Pakistan: Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, Moin Khan, Saqlain Mushtaq

South Africa: Jacques Kallis, Lance Kluseners, Allan Donald, Jonty Rhodes, Shaun Pollock

West Indies: Brian Lara, Carl Hooper, Courtney Walsh, Curtley Ambrose

The teams are named Tendulkar’s Blasters and Warne’s Warriors and the matches will be played on November 7, 11 and 14. Incidentally, the three venues chosen are all baseball stadiums. The third T20, which will be the only match to be played under floodlights, will be held at the Dodger Stadium, the home of the LA Dodgers, having a capacity of 56000.

Game 1: November 7 – 1 PM Eastern Time (10.30 PM IST)

Game 2: November 11 – 2 PM Central Time (12.30 AM IST – next day)

Game 3: November 14 – 6.30 PM Pacific Time (7.30 AM IST – next day)
