Former Indian international and key member of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians, Ambati Rayudu, has grabbed all the headlines lately with his rash behaviour yet again but this time off the field. The senior statesmen of Indian Cricket and Hyderabad Cricket Association are not amused by the unruly behaviour of 31-year old.
The snippet of him engaging in a scuffle with a senior citizen has done quite a few rounds in social media. It is not the first time the temperament of Hyderabad batsman has been brought under the scanner. Rayudu also came into limelight after being involved in a verbal duel with legendary Indian off spinner and fellow teammate Harbhajan Singh.
During an India ‘A’ tour to Australia, Rayudu also lashed out at the umpire and hurled abuses after being adjudged Leg Before wicket. You can check out the video below
“The issue has been closed and I had a talk with Rayudu. He only asked the pedestrians to move aside as he had to rush to the stadium for the Moin-ud-Dowla final between Hyderabad and Air-India but it has been painted wrongly,” commented the Secretary of HCA T Shesh Narayan, according to Telangana Express.
“He is an Indian international. He should not behave in the manner which is not good for the game or his stature. Cricket is a gentleman’s game and he is supposed to be an ambassador of the game. He is also the captain of the Hyderabad team. It is sad,” further augmented the official.
“No doubt he is talented but his temperament is unbecoming. It is in marked contrast to other Hyderabadi cricketers. The gentleman behaviour of someone like VVS Laxman, who has often been referred as a gentleman and a cricketer was the last one who should be worthy of emulation,” commented a senior cricketer.
