It was a pressure situation but I and Khushdil planned to take it till the end: Shadab Khan on his knock
“It was a pressure situation, and I and Khushdil Shah planned to take it easy till the second powerplay, and we would take our chances after the 38th over in two-over power play,” said Shadab during the post-match press conference. The senior all-rounder also said that Pakistan skipper Babar Azam called him “buddha” [old].
“I got a lot of motivation after Babar called me buddha. After getting injured, it’s difficult to field properly, so that’s why he called me buddha. I have been working hard at the National High-Performance Center to bowl more overs because it was initially difficult to bowl after getting injured. Hopefully, I will keep working hard and try to improve,” he said.
Talking about the third match, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. The hosts had an excellent start with the bat, however, they suffered a mini-collapse in the middle and were in trouble at one point of time. However, Khushdil Shah and Shadab played some decent knocks as the home side reached 269 runs in 48 overs. In reply, several West Indies batters got starts, but could not convert it to a big score As a result, the Men in Green won the match by 53 runs.
