Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are set to face Mumbai Indians (MI) for the second time in three days on Wednesday. While they are currently at the fourth position in the points table, the team cannot afford to lose this game as a lot of pressure will mount on them to qualify for the playoffs. Unfortunately, Mumbai has been their nemesis over the last 3 years as they’ve failed to register a victory over them. However, the co-owner of the team Shah Rukh Khan is set to visit the Eden Gardens and cheer his team in the crucial encounter.

Dinesh Karthik and his Men will have to pull up their socks and put up a resolute performance against the defending champions who have won their last couple of matches. It is a must-win game for the visitors and a loss would virtually their title defence. Though KKR won’t be eliminated after a loss in today’s game, they will lose their fourth position to Mumbai and then will have to win all their remaining 3 matches to qualify for the playoffs.

The King of Bollywood attended the wedding of the actress Sonam Kapoor last night in Mumbai and will now travel all the way to the City of Joy to inspire his team. Shah Rukh Khan himself informed the news to his followers on his official Twitter handle saying and also urged the fans to support his team. “Kolkata see u at Eden. Let today’s cheer be the loudest for KKR,” he tweeted.

Shah Rukh Khan is known to be the avid follower of cricket and has backed KKR ever since the inception of the IPL way back in 2008. He was over the moon after the team had won two titles in 2012 and 2014. Though this time they are struggling, the team looks confident to qualify for the playoffs at least.
