Two times champion Kolkata Knight Riders recently had a function to celebrate their 10-year anniversary in the lucrative Indian Premier League. The event which took place in Kolkata on May 14 (Sunday) was attended by the team owner Shah Rukh Khan as well as the entire KKR squad. Having finished the league phase of IPL 10 in fourth place, KKR will now face the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in an all-important eliminator on May 17 in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, as their team geared up for the big game against SRH, all the current members of the franchise took time out from their preparations to commemorate the journey of KKR since the inception of the T20 league.

The team owner Shah Rukh Khan was seen at the event with his son AbRam Khan who has been making it to the ground to witness the games in the current as well as the past editions several times. Photos and videos of the celebration were uploaded on social networking sites like Twitter and Instagram by the official accounts of KKR and the television broadcast company Star Sports India. Also, SRK himself uploaded a photo of the event on his official Instagram account with the title, “Nostalgia heartbreaks & highs. Shared a full lifetime with my team over the last 10 yrs in Kolkata our city.Thx all. #DusKiDahaad #AmiKKR (sic).”

Few interesting questions were also thrown at the end of Shah Rukh Khan in reference to his films. As usual King Khan had some witty answers for it.

Devdas of KKR:
When asked about who among the current team was most likely to perfectly depict the character of Devdas, Shah Rukh hinted that Australian batsman Chris Lynn was the likely candidate.

“Okay, I need to find out who drinks the most amongst you guys, yaar. Chris Lynn is the Devdas,” Shah Rukh said.

Yusuf Pathan and Manish Pandey were also assigned roles from his side. “Rahul from Dil Toh Pagal Hai? I find Manish Pandey very good looking. He’s the Rahul,” he said and further added: “Raees toh sirf Yusuf bhai ho sakhte hain (Only Yusuf Pathan can be Raees).”

Few lucky fans were also given an invitation to this event who got once in a lifetime opportunity to spend an evening with their favorite cricket stars. Fans were caught saying, “I am a big fan of KKR. Not since the past two or three years but since ten years.”

Courtesy of their defeats against Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in their last two group games due to which KKR dropped down to fourth in the points table, they will now have to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator on Wednesday and then get over the line against MI in the Qualifier 2 on Friday to keep their hopes alive of clinching yet another IPL title.
