The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is one of the most acknowledged and celebratory franchises of them all in the ten years history of Indian Premier League (IPL). They have played each and every single game in their paradigm journey with great compassion and also incomplete sportsmanship of the game.

They also maintained their regular stature at the 2018 IPL auction as well, by picking out the right set of combination with some young as well experienced players in the shortest format for the upcoming edition of the tournament. Recently, they named Indian batsman Dinesh Karthik as their captain to lead this newly grouped KKR team in this year’s IPL.

KKR co-owner gives a warm welcome to his new skipper

Famed Bollywood personality and also the co-owner of the KKR franchise Shah Rukh Khan invested some time to provide a warm welcome to the new skipper of his IPL team. The KKR co-owner feels that Karthik will certainly be taking forward the same legacy which the previous captains of the franchise have left behind and will bring in that self-esteem and dignify presence into the newly former KKR dressing room in the upcoming season.

“As we stand poised for a new season of KKR we welcome @Dinesh Karthik as our Captain. Like our Captains over the yrs we know u will also lead us by boosting the self-esteem & dignity of all of us,” wrote Shah Rukh on his twitter handle welcoming Karthik as the captain of his franchise for the eleventh edition of the IPL.

The challenges for Karthik as a captain in the upcoming season

During the previous seasons of the IPL, Karthik has only captained the Delhi Daredevils in a few matches and has also led his State team Tamil Nadu successfully in several domestic competitions. So the upcoming edition of the Twenty20 league portrays different types of challenges and experiences waiting for the newly appointed skipper of KKR franchise.

Apart from this, the 32-year old is also a regular member of the current Indian team, especially in the limited overs set-up. His vast experience of playing the game at all big levels and pressure conditions would surely be a confidence booster in his latest role.
