The league stages of the Indian Premier League is coming towards an end and we are getting a clearer picture of the top four teams. IPL 2018 has been one of the most closely fought IPL’s as most of the teams were in contention to make it to the final stages till the last day of the matches. Few teams have discovered the winning momentum quite late while few have stuttered in the latter half of the tournament.

On Saturday, the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad to become the third team to make it to the playoffs. KKR won the game by five wickets thanks to some impressive death bowling to restrict the opposition when they were going all guns blazing. Shah Rukh Khan came up with a beautiful tweet after his side won the game.

He tweeted: “Been awake 24hrs to see these smiles. Thx @DineshKarthik @prasidh43 (well done young man) @robbieuthappa ( v have to exercise 2gether) @lynny50 (wow mate) & @SunilPNarine74 is…Sunil. Very happy cant sleep now!!”

Impressive win

For KKR, Prasidh Krishna picked up four wickets and conceded just 30 runs while Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine provided immersive start to the team. Skipper Dinesh Karthik finished the job quite easily and the team chased down the target in the final over of the game. SRH were never in contention to win the game after they lost the plot midway in their innings, Shikhar Dhawan and Shreevats Goswami started the SRH innings aggressively but the other batsmen failed to turn the good start into a big score.

The loss will not hurt SRH as they remain on top of the table while KKR moves to the third spot and booked a place into the final four. The orange army has lost three matches in a row and it may worry them heading into the playoffs.
