Young Pakistan sensation and all-rounder Shaheen Shah Afridi has been a revelation for Pakistan in recent times. Having impressed first in the ICC U19 World Cup in New Zealand and then in the Pakistan Super League, the teenager has been touted by many to have a very long and a very successful career for the now discarded cricketing nation.

The youngster came of age in the PSL a few years back when he picked up six wickets in a single game, somethingt hat saw him as a bowler of international repute. However, the actual ‘coming of age’ moment came when he was bowling to international players of certain considerable repute. In addition to this, it is certainyl something that the PCB and the Pakistan cricket team selectors cannot ignore.

‘Happy to be able to retain my place in the Pakistan team’

Speaking about his recent performances as well as retaining his place in the Pakistan side, Afridi said that he wanted to perform well against Scotland and maintain his place in the side. He also added that he had travelled a bit early with the team to adapt to the conditions a lot faster and easily.

“I’m happy about being able retain my place in the Pakistan side and want to perform well in the upcoming series against Scotland,” said Shaheen in an interview with the Pakistan Cricket Board.

“We came here a bit early to adapt to conditions and we are training extensively to improve in all departments of the game.”

“As a youngster, I’m proud to represent the Pakistan team,” he said. “In order to get a chance to represent Pakistan and succeed as a cricketer, young players must consistently work hard.”
