Shahid Afridi desires to play PSL final at the Karachi National Stadium

Shahid Afridi has carved a reputation for being an entertainer and is loved by fans across the globe. The cricketer has also been a successful campaigner for Pakistan for several years. The all-rounder started his career in the Pakistan Super League playing for the Peshawar Zalmi. However, due to anonymous reasons, he shifted to the Karachi Kings and is currently, representing the franchise in the tournament.

The cricketer recently spoke to the media and expressed his wish to play the Final at the Karachi National Stadium, his adopted hometown. “I am playing for Karachi Kings for the first time in the PSL and it is my ambition to see us playing in the final on March 25 as it is being held in Karachi for the first time,” Afridi mentioned.

Afridi’s decision to retire

The Pakistan veteran also rubbished talks of him making a comeback to the national squad. “My decision to retire is final. I am now enjoying myself playing in these T20 leagues and doing my foundation work,” Afridi added. The legendary cricketer also appreciated the admiration from his fans and mentioned his foundation work as a primary reason to remain involved in the sport.

“A cricketer can ask for nothing more. My fans still enjoy my performances and I love that and continue to play for them. It is also important for me to carry on playing cricket for my foundation work.” Afridi iterated. Afridi also heaped praises on Mickey Arthur, the coach of the Karachi Kings.

He remarked that despite being an emotional and aggressive minded person, Arthur is impeccable in his decision making and is someone who doesn’t fear failures. Karachi has played won all their three games against Quetta, Peshawar, and Lahore respectively and are placed at the top of the ladder in the league table.  Karachi will now face Shoaib Malik’s Multan Sultans in their upcoming game at Sharjah.
