Shahid Afridi has been at the receiving end of some severe bashing ever since he commented about the tense situations in the Indian-occupied area of Kashmir. Former and current Indian cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina and Mohammed Kaif have criticized the former Pakistani cricketer for his outrageous words.
Meanwhile, Kaif has highlighted the terror attacks and political turmoil as reasons for not allowing Pakistani players in the Indian Premier League (IPL), which might not have gone down well with the Khyber Agency- born all-rounder. Recently, as per sources in PakPassion, he came down hard with a message on Twitter, mentioning his reluctance to play in the Indian T20 league while hailing the PSL as the best league. Here’s what he wrote
“Shahid Afridi “Even if they call me, I won’t go to the IPL. My PSL is the biggest and there will be a time that it leaves the IPL behind. I am enjoying the PSL, I don’t have any need for the IPL. I’m not interested in it and never was” #Cricket”

The IPL along with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been major tournaments in India and Pakistan respectively. The Pakistani players played in the tournament back in 2008, however, have been barred from playing in the league following the infamous Mumbai terror attacks by Laskar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan based militant organization.
Shahid Afridi played for the Deccan Chargers in the opening season of the IPL. The cricketer has retired from international cricket and now plays for the Karachi Kings in the PSL. He played the opening seasons for the Peshawar Zalmi, however, moved to Karachi this season. The relation between the two cricketing boards have worsened and chances of Pakistani players playing the IPL looks bleak.
