Shahid Kapoor trains to be a cricketer in his upcoming movie 'Jersey'

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor recently played an intense role of a drug addict and alcoholic surgeon in Kabir Singh. And now, he is all set to play the role of a cricketer in his upcoming movie that is titled Jersey. Actually, it will be the remake of Tollywood hero Nani’s superhit which was released earlier this year.

The latest picture of the actor as a cricketer went viral on social media in which he is seen wearing a headband with a bat in his hand. As per the reports, he is taking regular practice sessions in order to bring the best for his fans on the big screen.

Shahid first look as cricketer gets viral

A famous Indian critic Taran Adarsh shared a picture of Indian actor on his Twitter handle and wrote, “Shahid Kapoor begins prep for the role of a cricketer in the #Hindi remake of #Telugu film #Jersey… The #Hindi version will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original #Telugu version, starring Nani… 28 Aug 2020 release.”

Earlier,  Shahid Kapoor said that he was in search of an appropriate role for him after Kabir Singh. But, in the end, it was the role in Jersy that impressed him a lot and was sure that he wanted to play it on 70 mm screen for his fans. “It took me some time to decide what to do next after ”Kabir Singh”. But the minute I saw ”Jersey”, I knew I wanted it to be my next. It is a wonderfully inspiring and personal human journey that I connected with deeply,” Indian actor said as quoted by Bollywood Life.

The remake of Jersey will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who steered its Telugu version starring Nani. The story of the movie revolves around a player named Arjun, and his dream to play for Team India. But, due to some circumstances in his personal life, he will get sidelined from the game for more than 10 years. Later on, at the age of 36, he marks his return and overcomes all the obstacles in his path.

Jersey movie starring Shahid Kapoor is expected to release on August 28, 2020. Moreover, its Telugu version of the movie did a World Wide collection of 48 Cr.
