West Indies opening batsman Rajendra Chandrika has been replaced by Shai Hope from Barbados in their squad for the third Test against India. India is currently leading the 4-match Test series 1-0 after winning the first match and ending up the second match in a draw.
Hope is a right-handed batsman who has already represented West Indies in 6 Test matches. He is also capable of keeping wickets. In his short Test career, he has scored 171 runs at an average of 15.54.
He is making his way into the squad on the back of some great performances in the WICB Professional Cricket League four-day tournament, where he scored two centuries in his last four matches.
Chandrika didn’t have the best of series so far as he managed to score just 53 runs from his 4 innings with the best score of 31. He has scores of 5 and 1 from the two innings of the last Test match and averages 13.25 in the series.
