The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa. The Tigers are currently playing the Test series, and they will take the field tomorrow against the Proteas after a crushing 333-run defeat in the 1st Test. The visitors, who are on a month long tour to South Africa, will play a series of T20 following the ODI games.

The first ODI match will take place on 15th October while the rest of the two matches will be played on 18th and 22th October respectively. Mashrafe Mortaza will once again take the command as the leader of the pack. Nasir Hossain is back in the ODI set up and Bangladesh will be happy to have Shakib Al Hasan in the scheme of things. Saif Uddin is the only rookie in the side, as the Tigers looks balanced.

Skipper comes down hard after defeat

After the humiliating loss in the 1st Test, Tiger’s skipper Mushfiqur Rahim blasted his side and said “After a long time I saw a session where we lost even before being lost. I really don’t know why it happened. It is disappointing because I really forgot when we batted in this manner. You can lose a match in many ways but we have the ability to bat for two sessions,”.

“You can say we could have batted but there is no guarantee that we would put a 500 plus score on the board. All of us took this decision (to bowl first). We didn’t know much about South African wickets, so it was hard for us to predict. We practiced on totally different wickets. On any flat wicket, the help for the bowlers stay for the first two hours. If you think about what will happen in the fourth innings and then get bowled out for 100 in the first innings, it becomes difficult.” he added.

Bangladesh squad:

Masrafe Bin Mortaza (Captain), Shakib Al Hasan (Vice Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Litton Kumar Das, Soumya Sarker, Imrul Kayes, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shabbir Rahaman, Nasir Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain, Saif Uddin.
