Shakib Al Hasan honored with Sheikh Kamal Gold Medal award 2015: Bangladeshi star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan received the esteemed Sheikh Kamal Gold Medal award 2015. Dhaka Abahani Limited which is one of the oldest and most renowned clubs of the country had arranged the event. The Club follows the tradition of felicitating the 3 best Sportsmen and organizers of the country with gold medals every year to celebrate the birthday of Sheikh Kamal who was the founder of the club, which was established in 1972 in Dhaka.

The event was held in the premises of the Abahani Club. Honorable Prime Minister of People’s Republic Of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina who also happens to be the sister of late Sheikh Kamal handed over the awards which made the event even more enchanting. Sheikh Kamal was the former President of Bangladesh and an avid sportsman of his time.
The recipients of the honorable awards were Shakib Al Hasan, Skipper of Bangladesh National Football Team Mamunul Islam, Goalkeeper of National Hockey Team Ashim Kumar Gope, former President of Abahani Club Shamsul Islam Khan (posthumously) and organizers Dr Kazi Anis Ahmed and Nazmul Hasan Papon.
