Shane Warne announces his biopic in the wake of recent trends

After two Indian legends got their biopic in 2016, king of spin Shane Warne has announced his biopic, to be aired on Channel Seven. The sorcerer of the red cherry, a very colorful character of the cricketing world, finally made the announcement after months of speculation.
Warne went the MS Dhoni way to become the first cricketer outside India to have his life being made into a celluloid production. Warne’s cricketing career spanning over a decade and a half with his admiration, criticism and controversies, is going to be made into a TV series by Channel Seven. The series is in pre-production stages with the star cast being finalized and once it is locked, the shooting will begin in Melbourne next year.
One of the most controversial and colorful characters ever in cricket, the TV series has been planned to cover all the aspects of his life. A career plagued by controversies and scandals, including a ban after testing positive for prohibited substances and charged for bringing disgrace to the game by taking money from bookmakers’ and many sexual indiscretions, he was also one of the most successful players, capturing over 1000 international wickets in his career.
Warne held the record of most Test wickets with 708 wickets, which was later broken by Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan, and also the record of scoring most runs without scoring a century. He declared his retirement from international cricket in January 2007, along with three other legends, Glenn McGrath, Damien Martyn and Justin Langer, after a 5-0 Ashes win over England, the event which led some people including then Australian captain calling it ‘End Of An Era’.

Now it remains to be seen if the series shows the details of his life or just glorifies his feats in the cricketing arena.
