Shane Warne has recently been roped into Fox Sports’ star-spangled commentary team as per reports in cricket.com.au. The team already have some colossal names in the form of Mark Waugh, Adam Gilchrist, Brendon Julian, Michael Hussey and Alan Border, who were teammates of the former Australian leg-break bowler. The likes of Isa Guha, Melanie Jones and Michael Vaughan are also a part of the elite list.

Quite expectantly, the veteran sounded delighted by the offer in a recent media interaction. He also wishes to nail his job with perfection and make things attractive for the viewers. “I’m really happy to be joining the family and the team. Hopefully, I can make it entertaining and help. I can’t wait to get started with this amazing team of commentators,” Warne mentioned.

Warne’s pledge to revolutionise cricket

He also feels that Fox Sports is poised to change the face of cricket across the globe. “It’s important we make Australians love and trust the game again. When people turn on the cricket the fans want to be proud of the team. FOX Sports will revolutionise cricket around the world. The way we will do the commentary and what we will bring to the fans will be super exciting,” the 48-year-old added.

Warne recently played the role of a mentor of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was scheduled to leave for Australia following RR’s match against the Mumbai Indians (MI). However, the same was postponed following the Royals’ encounter against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Rajasthan, captained by Ajinkya Rahane, is expected to dearly miss their mentor as they find themselves in a precarious position and are placed in the fifth position of the league table. Apart from Warne, a couple of players in Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler have also left the team owing to national duties, which can turn out to be a body blow for the franchise.
