Shane Warne set to auction off his Melbourne property on April 04

With the rise of the WHO-recognized pandemic that is the Coronavirus, the world has proceeded to come to a standstill. The worst sufferers from the development are the daily wager, whose bread and butter has been disrupted by the lockdown. As the world continues to fight the escalating situation, champion leg-spinner Shane Warne is bracing himself for a heft paycheck, courtesy the auction of his lavish property in Melbourne, which is set to go under the hammer shortly.

The five-bedroom + bathroom lavish property is situated in Brighton and is set to go under the hammer on April 04. According to real-estate.com.au, the starting price of the property is set between AUD $6.8 and $7.4 million.

It consists of a more than 500-bottle wine-cellar, a tasting room and a fully-equipped bar in the basement, along with a home theatre, swimming pool, and an outdoor spa.

The property previously belonged to Essendon Football Club legend Matthew Lloyd. Warne had bought the house back in 2018 for a whopping amount of $5.4 million. The legendary leg-spinner is all set to leave the property for a luxurious apartment in St.Kilda.

Coming back to the Coronavirus issue, Warne was recently lambasted on Twitter when he tagged a whole host of current and former cricketers while enquiring about whether the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is getting postponed or not.

Warne’s query came minutes before the news arrived that the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League has been postponed till April 15th. The 13th edition has been put under jeopardy due to COVID-19 threat and, given the situation improves by the time 15 April rolls around, the tournament will still be a curtailed one, as announced by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly after holding a meeting with the franchise owner.
