The first day of the fifth and the final Test match between India and Australia was marked by a brilliant bowling performance by debutant Kuldeep Yadav. Yadav scalped four wickets of the Australian innings including that of power hitter David Warner. Surprisingly, Yadav after his four-wicket haul has revealed that he learnt the flipper that helped India get rid of Warner from Aussie legend Shane Warne.

Before the series, which is currently tied 1-1, got started Kuldeep had met Warne with head coach Anil Kumble and the result is showing in the decider at Dharamsala. Speaking about the tips the Kanpur-born Yadav got from the legend, he said, “Did you see the first wicket (that of Warner)? That was not a chinaman. It was a flipper which I learnt from Shane Warne. So learning from Warne and then getting out his countryman is a nice feeling.”

Kuldeep also said that he had idolized the leg spinner from his childhood and meeting him was a dream come true for the 22-year-old. “My idol is Shane Warne and I have followed him since my childhood. I only watch his videos and it was a dream-come-true when I met him. I could not believe I was speaking to my idol and sharing my thoughts on bowling and what all I should be doing.”

“I did exactly what he (Warne) told me to do. He has promised that he will have another session with me in near future”

Kuldeep also brilliantly foxed Peter Handscomb and Glenn Maxwell both of which were very important wickets for India. The spinner’s fourth wicket was Pat Cummins who he caught off his own bowling. This bowling performance from the youngster will certainly please all those who backed him to do well for India at the highest level.
