Former Australia cricketer Shane Watson is currently enjoying a healthy break away from the game. He last played a competitive game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final and won it for them single-handedly by smashing 117 runs in the chase. The all-round cricketer has cracked a huge deal of $6.8 Million as he has bought a new home in Sydney‘s Eastern Suburbs.

Watson was one of the best all-rounders for Australia and went on to play 59 Tests, 190 One-Day Internationals and 58 T20Is for them. Though he averaged only 35 in the whites, he was the boss in the other two formats and went on to score 5757 runs in the 50-overs format and 1462 runs in T20Is at an amazing strike-rate of 145.32. The 37-year-old has continued to play in the T20 leagues around the world and will be looking to play for a couple more years.

According to the reports in Domain, Shane Watson and his wife Lee are believed to have purchased a the Bellevue Hill property for $6,825,000 (Rs 47.63 Crore). It appears to be a more permanent base for them and their growing family which is also surrounded by schools. Interestingly, the home was built in the 1930s and it has four bedrooms and has also been renovated recently.

Now it has been decorated with new bathrooms, parquetry flooring and marble finishes in the kitchen. Moreover, the property was listed as a deceased estate in 2014 and was owned by Heazlett family for almost 30 years who purchased it for $3.08 Million. According to Daily Mail, previously, Watson family Caringbah South home and a home in Bronte that he sold for $10.6million which he sold for $ 3,925,000 and $10.6million respectively.

As far as his cricketing career is concerned, Watson will return to the field most probably for the next season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and then will feature in the Big Bash League and in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
