Suryakumar Yadav has been one of India’s best batters in the T20I format in recent times, and he came up with yet another match-winning innings in the third T20I against West Indies. While the current era demands a lot of versatility among the batters, Surykumar is one of those who fits into any batting position. He was asked to open the innings alongside Rohit Sharma, and the move has worked out quite good for him.

The 31-year-old is considered to be a special player with his ability to play 360-degree shots, and he manages to find gaps from his unorthodox shots. With a lot of strokes in his armoury, Suryakumar has been entertaining the fans with some breath-taking shots and is proving to be an invaluable asset for India in the shorter format.

Not many have mastered the ramp shots like Suryakumar, and he showed his class in the third T20I off the bowling of Alzarri Joseph. The pacer banged it short into the deck at a good pace, and Suryakumar was quick to adjust to it by just guiding it above the wicketkeeper’s head in the third-man area for a boundary. He made the late adjustments by bending his knee, and it left the commentators on air amassed.

Here’s the spectacular shot from Suryakumar Yadav

“Sheer brilliance from Suryakumar Yadav… showing his flexibility, hand-eye coordination and skill,” Darren Ganga said in the commentary box. Meanwhile, Suryakumar went to make a half-century and finally was removed after a 44-ball 76, which included eight fours and four sixes.

The right-hander’s innings meant that India chased down the target of 165 comfortably with one over to spare. The fourth T20I of the five-match series is scheduled to take place on August 6 in Florida, and it will be a must-win contest for the West Indies hosts to keep the series alive.
