Explosive opener Shikhar Dhawan yesterday apologized to all the Indian fans for his upsetting show in the World T20.

He tweeted, “Koi kami mere mein hi hogi, jaisi performance chahta tha waisi hui nahi. Galtiyon ko ab khoobiyon mein badal ke aur acha khiladi banoonga!”

He said that the fault is in himself, as his performances in the tournament did not match up to what he had expected of himself. He vowed to work on his weaknesses and turn them into his strengths.

The India opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan were very poor in the tournament. Dhawan, in particular, was under the criticism. Fans found some respite when the southpaw, who is reputed as an impact player, hit a knock of 60 runs against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup Final.

Dhawan also made runs in the two warm-up games before the start of the World T20; 73 n.o. Vs South Africa and 21 Vs West Indies but managed to make 43 runs in the four Super 10 matches in which he played, at an average just over 10 After a series of poor outings, he was replaced by Ajinkya Rahane in the semi-finals, who managed to score 40 runs.

Dhawan will be next seen in action in the Indian Premier League where he will be leading the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He would surely hope to give a crackling performance in the month and half long T20 carnival.
