Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has already conquered the island nation of Sri Lanka after the Indian team engaged themselves in a full fledged series with the lions. The series kicked off with the Test format where Dhawan was brought in as a replacement for the injured Murali Vijay. The bald headed sensation capitalized on the opportunity in a perfect manner by slamming two brilliant centuries in the campaign.
The left handed genius was awarded the Man of the Match award for the series and his performance now sees him as an integral part of the Test side. He then carried on his surreal form to the ODI format and played a trailblazing and beaten knock of 132 runs in the first ODI. The batsman has been a delight to watch till now in the series and his humble nature makes us respect him more.
The Sri Lankans, on the other hand, have been struggling throughout the series. They have been outclassed by the Indians in all departments and find themselves in a state of turmoil. The fans seem to be highly frustrated and we saw an outrage from the fans after the first and the 3rd ODI.
The main story:
However, the players of both the teams have been enjoying their time off the field together. Shikhar Dhawan took to his official Twitter account to share a picture of himself with two Sri Lankan heavyweights. In the picture, we can see Dhawan sharing the screen with former Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews and present skipper Dinesh Chandimal. While the Sri Lankans nailed their look in white shirts, Shikhar Dhawan looked dapper in a black one.
Dhawan paired the picture with a wonderful line mentioning that he had a great time meeting these two gentlemen from the game of cricket. His tweet read It was a pleasure meeting
@Angelo69Mathews & @chandi_17 off the field.
