Shikhar Dhawan’s prowess with the bat in hand is known to all. Though he could play only a couple of matches in the World Cup, his century against Australia at the Kennington Oval in London drew a lot of praises from the netizens. Recently, he was a part of the Indian squad for the T20I and ODI series in the West Indies. His next international assignment is the T20I series versus South Africa.
Dhawan has also been included to the India ‘A’ squad for the last two unofficial One Dayers against South Africa ‘A’ in Thiruvananthapuram. Apart from his masterful potential with the bat in hand, the southpaw has a fail bit of knowledge in the field of music as well. The Delhi-born cricketer has mastered the art of playing flute, an instrument, which epitomizes peace and symphony.
Shikhar Dhawan weaving magic with the flute
Last year in June, he posted a video, where he was seen playing the instrument with absolute grace. He had his Guru, Venugopal Ji playing alongside him. Moreover, he said that he has been learning the art for the last three years. In his message, Dhawan stated that at any age one can pursue their passion and also get satisfaction. He also encouraged the youngsters to go for their dreams.
Not only Dhawan, but the likes of Brett Lee and AB de Villiers have also shown great interest in music. In fact, back in 2010, ABD released an album ‘Maak Jou Drome Waar’ with singer-songwriter South African Ampie du Preez. Lee is a part of a rock band ‘Six and Out’ and the speedster also had the privilege of recording a Hindi song alongside the legendary Asha Bhosle way back in 2007.
As far as Dhawan is concerned, he recently posted another video where he was completely immersed in playing the flute. The atmosphere around him also looked a pleasant one with clouds hovering above and cold breeze adding to the ambiance. Dhawan captioned the video and wrote, “A fresh start… Trees, the wind, the ocean & some music = bliss.”

In the meantime, his fans are absolutely shocked to see him with the instrument. Even as some went on to compare him with Lord Krishna, a few of them referred to him as an all-rounder.
