Shoaib Akhtar leaves Pewdiepie behind as he gains subscribers on his YouTube channel at record speed

Pakistan’s former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar is a lively personality. He was one of the fastest bowlers in international cricket of all time and terrorized the batsmen throughout his career from 1997-2011 and helped Pakistan reach the finals of the 1999 World Cup. Now he has turned a media personality and he gives reviews of Pakistan’s matches on YouTube and his channel has become quite famous.
Currently, his channel has been dedicated to covering the ICC World Cup 2019 and it was revived recently after being inactive for three months. If one observes the stats of the past 30 days, during which the World Cup has been on, Akhtar’s channel has gained a little over 9.8 lakh, new subscribers. In doing so, Akhtar has left behind one of the moguls of YouTube world Pewdiepie behind in gaining subscribers.

Shoaib Akhtar’s videos have received 1.5-2 million views on an average. His 9.8 lakh new subscribers in the past 30 days is more than well-known YouTuber Pewdiepie who amassed only 6.5 lakh new subscriptions in the same period. Akhtar’s fame and popularity in the cricketing circles and fraternity has helped him become one of the most followed cricketers on the video hosting platform.
His most popular video is the postmortem of Pakistan’s loss to rivals India on June 16, which received a staggering 9 million views. The Men on Blue defeated the Men in Green by 89 runs via DLS method and Akhtar tore into the poor outing of the team with detailed analysis. He thanked his fans from both sides of the border after he reached the 1 million subscriber mark.
In his video reviewing the debacle performance of his team, Akhtar had targeted the bowlers of the team, especially Hasan Ali for whom he said, Hasan goes to Wagah Border and jumps around to show off his energy but why can he not display the same energy for Pakistan in the World Cup?”

Shoaib showed hopes for Pakistan to make it into the semis after they beat South Africa the other day at Lord’s. Pakistan’s next matches are against New Zealand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and they not only need to win these matches with big margins to boost their own net run rate but also pray for some upsets with the top four teams.
