The finalists in the 2017 edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League; Band-e-Amir Dragons and Mis Ainak Knights will lock horns on Wednesday morning. The defending champions, BEA Dragons started the tournament with a big defeat against the hosts Kabul Eagles. The Rashid Khan-led team conceded 209/4 in the 20 overs as Rashid himself conceded 45 runs. The BEAD team never got going in the chase as they were reduced to 94/6 by 15th over.
Hayatullah and Batin Shah added 80 runs for the 7th wicket in only 5.4 overs but could only push the team total to 174/7. On the other hand, the Mis Ainak Knights were nowhere close to defending their total of 156/8. Boost Defenders were 129/3 in 16th over thanks to an 82-run stand for the 4th wicket. Once the partnership got broken, the Defenders collapsed and were restricted to just 153/9.
We might see cloudy weather in the morning during the BEAD-MAK match. However, a pour down is not expected at any point of the game.
The morning game on Tuesday might not exactly show how good the pitch was for the batsmen. Mis Ainak Knights could consider themselves lucky to defend the total 156 on a good surface to bat on. The venue usually witnesses totals around 170 in the morning matches. Chasing teams will have a chance of winning unless they struggle in the second half of the chase like Boost Defenders on Tuesday.
Average first innings score: 166 (Last 6 T20 matches played in the morning)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 1, Lost – 5

Despite losing the first match, the Band-e-Amir Dragons are expected to retain their playing XI. Batin Shah Abdurahimzai was one of the two failures with the ball for BEAD. Batin covered it with a quick-fire 43 to bring down the losing margin. For Mis Ainak Knights, the only change could be bringing in Sharafudin Ashraf who was surprisingly left out.
Band-e-Amir Dragons are expected to bag their first win of the tournament.
