The finalists in the 2017 edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League; Band-e-Amir Dragons and Mis Ainak Knights will lock horns on Wednesday morning. The defending champions, BEA Dragons started the tournament with a big defeat against the hosts Kabul Eagles. The Rashid Khan-led team conceded 209/4 in the 20 overs as Rashid himself conceded 45 runs. The BEAD team never got going in the chase as they were reduced to 94/6 by 15th over.

Hayatullah and Batin Shah added 80 runs for the 7th wicket in only 5.4 overs but could only push the team total to 174/7. On the other hand, the Mis Ainak Knights were nowhere close to defending their total of 156/8. Boost Defenders were 129/3 in 16th over thanks to an 82-run stand for the 4th wicket. Once the partnership got broken, the Defenders collapsed and were restricted to just 153/9.
