Twenty20 has changed the way cricket has ever been played. It has redefined roles of players. This format of the game has shown more utility for the all rounders. Versatile players are preferred more than the specialists. These days players are expected to shine in all departments. A great example of this is Sunil Narine who in spite of being a specialist bowler has started delivering performances with the bat as well.

However, Kolkata Knight Riders management seems to have moved a step ahead as they now want Narine to don the wicket-keeping gloves. After some significant contributions from the bat, the KKR team is now expecting him to commit to the wicket-keeping role as well. When SH*T news asked Narine regarding the development, here’s what he had to say, ‘ I was first stunned but then if players like Uthappa and Naman Ojha can do it, why can’t I?

When we inquired about it with the KKR team management if it was a foul move, they hit back saying, ‘Even Ashok Dinda tried to become a bowler, even Rishi Dhawan tried to become an all rounder, even Rohan Gavaskar chose to become a cricketer, you never questioned them, why question our move then?’

This move has inspired the Royal Challengers Bangalore as they too seem to be planning to modify their players’ roles. As of now, rumours of Chris Gayle and Shane Watson carrying bottles have been doing rounds. Stuart Binny has expressed his displeasure over the decision.

Our SH*T team also tried to contact Shah Rukh Khan to know his opinion regarding the decision. Indeed he had a special message for Sunil Narine,

‘Matches mein bedhadak teri bowling se,

Har ball pe bewajah teri pinch hitting se,

Mohabbat Karunga main,

Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
