It will be interesting to see if the Indian all-rounder catches a flight to India for a couple of hours after the match against Sri Lanka.

As the Indian cricket team just gets out of the celebration mode after their dominant win over Pakistan in the Champions Trophy the dressing room has received another pleasant news. Indian allrounder Ravindra Jadeja has become a father to a baby girl. While the Indian team prepares to take on Sri Lanka in their second group game at The Oval later today, Jadeja received the news about the new member in his family.

He set an example by putting national duty before personal life as he travelled to England only days before his wife’s expected delivery date. Jadeja and wife his got married in April last year. Their love story is not the stereotypical childhood romance. In fact, they didn’t even meet at those ‘mutual friends’ parties.’

Apparently, the two met on WhatsApp and started dating each other. They say behind every successful man, there is a woman. And Jaddu’s wife Reeva’s did just that as after marriage she earned him a berth in the ICC World T20 and Asia Cup squad led by MS Dhoni.

National duty first

When he was asked about that, Jadeja said: “I had to leave my pregnant wife behind. Family matters a lot to me, but it was also necessary to be part of the team with an important match coming up against Pakistan. Since the family is there to take care of her even they felt that I should play as that’s more important and I decided to do the same.”

It will be interesting to see if the Indian all-rounder catches a flight to India for a couple of hours after the match against Sri Lanka. But for now, Team India will be eager to cement their place on the top 4 of the tables by beating Sri Lanka at the Oval and Daddy Ravindra Jadeja would want to give his daughter and the country a gift on her birth.
