The Indian blind cricket team achieved a grand feat as they defeated Pakistan in the 2017 World T20 final. They chased down a huge target of 198 runs to crush their arch rivals by 9 wickets. The party wasn’t over yet and they were invited to the very popular Kapil Sharma Show where they exposed some interesting happenings in the world of blind cricket and discussed their personal life as well.
Feeling honoured to be representing India and be a part of the team to lift the T20 World cup, Indian captain Ajay Reddy said, “I’m a cricket player, a member of the Indian team, and the captain as well. What more can I ask for?”
Comedian Kapil Sharma threw the question whether sledging is practised in blind cricket or not to which Reddy elucidated that it’s not that common but we get to see a bit of sledging in blind cricket as well when someone tries to delay the game or use defensive tactics.
“When this happens, we say, ‘take your bat and start brooming’,” Reddy said about sledging in blind cricket.
Prakasha Jayaramaiah, who was declared the man of the match in the grand finale was also present in the show. The wicket-keeper cum batsman scored a brilliant 99 not out to ensure that India retain their World T20 title.

When asked about who is the funniest member in their squad, captain Ajay Reddy marked out Prakasha Jayaramaiah. The discussion then shifted towards Prakasha’s 149-run knock in England in a series. The humorous Kapil Sharma took the chance and asked whether the wicket-keeper-batsman flirted with English women or not, to which he answered that no, he was completely into match mode.
Prakasha, who is a Karnataka player, said a keeper’s role is extremely important in blind cricket. “A Keeper points out to the fielder where the ball is hit. He also shouts ‘Here, Here’ to make the fielder throw the ball to him by listening to his voice.”
