Former India pacer Abhimanyu Mithun bowled a bizarre no-ball in the 14th match of the Abu Dhabi T10 2023 between Chennai Braves and Northern Warriors on December 2.

The Chennai Braves were chasing a target of 107. Mithun, who bowled the fifth over, picked up the wicket of the dangerous Bhanuka Rajapaksa off his second ball. However, the following delivery to Charith Asalanka was a front-foot no-ball.

While most pacers do overstep once in a while, the distance between the crease and where the right-arm seamer's left foot landed was astonishingly huge. The video of this no-ball got viral on social media in no time and Mithun received considerable flak for his error.

Apart from the no-ball, the 34-year-old had a good outing as he conceded just 11 runs in his two overs and picked up a couple of wickets. In fact, Mithun was the most economical bowler for the Warriors, who lost the match by five wickets as cameos from Stevie Eskinazi, Sikandar Raza, and Asalanka helped the Braves chase the target with two balls to spare.

Earlier, Afghanistan opener Hazratullah Zazai played a fantastic knock of 54 off 32 balls in the first innings to help the Warriors set a challenging target for their opponents. His compatriot Mohammad Nabi was the standout bowler for Chennai as he finished with figures of 2/11 in two overs.

Both teams have two wins and two losses after playing four games and find themselves just outside the top-four on the points table. The Warriors will face Bangla Tigers next, while Chennai will collide with the Deccan Gladiators on Sunday, December 3.
