Nepal cricket especially when it comes to women has been on the rise constantly. The other day in the ongoing (Asian Cricket Council) ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2024, Rubina Chhetry scripted history with her bat. Now today the bandwagon of record-making continues as the star Nepal all-rounder, Sita Rana Magar, etched her name in the records galore. Displaying her stellar bowling prowess against Kuwait in the 4th quarterfinal of the tournament, Magar rattled the visiting side's batting lineup with her stunning hat trick.

Notably, on Wednesday, February 14, in the 12th over of Kuwait Women's batting, Magar took matters into her hands and derailed them to clinch a sensational three wickets in tandem. Notably, the willy left-arm spinner dismissed Priyada Murali (12.2 Over), Maryam Omar (12.3 Over) and Amana Sharif Tarik (12.4 Over), respectively, to achieve the feat of becoming just the fourth Nepali woman to bag a hattrick in international cricket. To sum up her terrific bowling, Sita Rana Magar remained miser against the batters as she finished her bowling with 3/11 in her four overs quota.

Apart from, the star of the last game Rubina too kept the Kuwait batters under check by picking up (2/10) two wickets along with a maiden in her bowling spell. Fascinatingly, she already has two hattricks under her hat while Karuna Bhandari and Shabnam Rai are the other two Nepali women in the hattrick club.

All rounder Sita Rana Magar also opened the innings for Nepal and played a short cameo (17 off 15 balls) during the run chase. As a result, chasing a below-par target of 78 runs, even though they lost a wicket early, they comfortably raced to the revised target in a rain-marred game (50 runs in 12 overs as per DLS method) in just 6.5 overs to secure an 8-wicket victory. This meant that Nepal continue their dominance as table toppers in their group while they inch a step closer to qualifying for the upcoming Women's Asia Cup by storming into the semifinal.
