Social media was vibrant with various debates around cricket and the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) on Friday, April 19, 2024. After Match 33 of IPL 2024 was filled with a few contentious calls by the third umpire, former Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Tom Moody, highlighted the need for having dedicated TV umpires.

Interestingly enough, the co-head of strategy and planning of the ILT20 league tournament chimed in and reminded Moody regarding having two umpires as dedicated TV umpires in the last edition. Meanwhile, in another top social media trend, the former West Indian pacer and commentator, Ian Bishop, provided a tongue-in-cheek reply to a publication regarding his earlier tweet about the ace Indian pacer, Jasprit Bumrah. Besides, with the General Elections starting from April 19, 2024, former Indian cricketer and ex-member of the Lok Sabha, Gautam Gambhir, urged the general public to cast their respective votes.
