Former India skipper Virat Kohli once again starred for India against Pakistan in the Super Four round of the ongoing Asia Cup. After being put in to bat first, the Men in Blue got off to a brilliant start but it was Kohli who held the innings together for the team. He smashed a brilliant half-century, his 32nd in the format, to propel India to a score of 181/7 in their 20 overs.

While the 33-year-old looked in amazing touch throughout the innings, the shot he played to get to the half-century really left the entire crowd in awe. He put his right leg across and played a pick up shot just nonchalantly for a six over cow corner to cross the 50-run mark for the record 32nd time.

Even Kohli looked satisfied with his knock and was pumped up after reaching the milestone. He raised his bat to soak in the applause from the crowd and also kissed his jersey in the process to deliver a message that he always plays for the country.

What happened in the innings?

As far as India's innings was concerned, India stuck to their aggressive approach after being criticised for batting slow in the game against Hong Kong. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma got going from the word go and India managed to post 62 runs in the powerplay, their highest in T20Is vs Pakistan. They lost the momentum in the middle overs with Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya not contributing much.

But it was Virat Kohli who made sure that he stayed in the middle till the last over to help India post a more than competitive total on the board. Pakistan also bowled well to make a comeback but it was Virat Kohli who stole the limelight with his majestic knock.
