Indian wrestler and Olympic medalist Sakshi Malik congratulated Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni after the veteran led his team to their fifth title victory in the tournament's history. CSK defeated Gujarat Titans to win their record-equaling fifth IPL trophy. Out of the 16 editions of the tournament, Mumbai Indians and CSK have won five each, thereby showcasing their dominance in the league.

While there were many who shared heartwarming messages for the CSK skipper and the team for their victory, Sakshi's post was a direct dig at the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). Notably, the Indian wrestlers have been protesting against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh since the past few weeks and have accused him for sexual harassment.

In her congratulatory tweet for MS, Malik took a dig at WFI as she wrote:

"Congratulations MS Dhoni ji and CSK. We are happy that at least some sportspersons are getting respect and love they deserve. For us, the fight for justice is still on"

The Indian wrestlers were detained by the Delhi Police on the day of the new Parliament building's inauguration. The police dragged the female wrestlers, and the scenes did not look good at all. The wrestlers, who have won several medals for India on the national level, have been protesting against the WFI chief but all their efforts have gone unheard.

Speaking of the IPL 2023 finale, Chennai invited Gujarat to bat first at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Top efforts from young batter Sai Sudharsan (96 off 47) and a half-century by Wriddhiman Saha helped the home side put up a target of 215 runs for CSK to chase. Though none of the CSK batters managed to hit a fifty, but combined efforts from Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Ambati Rayudu, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja helped the Men in Yellow clinch their fifth title.
