BAN vs IND: Virat Kohli fumes after Bangladesh players celebrate his dismissal wildly during Mirpur Test

Former India skipper Virat Kohli and Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan were seen engaged in a fiery exchange after the dismissal of the India batter during the ongoing second Test match in Mirpur. 

On Day 3, Mehidy Hasan relished the prized scalp of flamboyant India batter Virat Kohli while India were out to chase a 145-run target set by the Bangla Tigers. Kohli, who decided to play delicately since his arrival on the pitch, got one run off 22 deliveries before he was caught by Mominul Haque, who was standing at forward short leg and brilliantly dived forward to take a low catch.

What followed was the batter getting agitated and stood firm on the pitch after the Bangla players began celebrating ecstatically. Adding to this, Virat stormed towards Shakib and the duo was seen momentarily arguing before the umpires intervened.

India on the lookout to clinch the series

Speaking about the match, the KL Rahul-led team India requires to chase down 145 runs to seal the series. The Bangla Tigers bowling unit has rattled the visitors and is not looking to bow down without putting up a fight as it happened in the first Test match.

With seven wickets down, the onus is on Shreyas Iyer and veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to construct a vital partnership and get the side ahead in the contest. Bangladesh have not made life easier for the rival side to have an edge in the red-ball contest and will look to do everything possible to register a win in their final match at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium.

Team India is also on the lookout for a spot in the summit clash of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23. A win in this contest will hand the side crucial points as far as the ICC WTC 21-23 Championship is concerned and it will hold them in good stead going forward in the upcoming series.
