MS Dhoni has been one of the most sought-after cricketers in the world. His legacy could not be termed as foregone as he continues to grace the Indian Premier League. He has a certain connection with the fans after leading India to the 50-over World Cup post a gap of 28 years. He remains the only captain in the world to win all the ICC silverware. Amongst hardcore fans, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn counts himself as one.
While promoting his movie during the Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad clash on Friday, he expressed his admiration for Captain Cool. Speaking of Dhoni’s demeanour on the field, Devgn stressed that one cannot fathom what is going on in the wicket-keeper batter’s mind. He also added that, when Dhoni is around even the hardships may generate a sense of hope. Devgn’s co-star Priya Mani pitched in and asserted that the former CSK captain should stick to his current batting position.
“Apart from being a great batsman, I have never seen Dhoni under pressure as captain. Even though he may have been there internally, I did not see that pressure on his face. He always remains calm and no matter what the situation is, he is always in control. His control increases the confidence of the entire team and they feel that Dhoni has some plan and something will get done. As a spectator, when the match is stuck in a critical situation, seeing Dhoni's tension free face makes one feel that something will happen. This is his specialty,” said Devgn on Star Sports.
“No way. Where he is playing, he is doing well and he does not need to change anything,” Priyamani added.

MS Dhoni stepped down as CSK captain
The former India captain stepped away from the captaincy position at CSK ahead of the IPL 2024 opener. Ruturaj Gaikwad was named as the captain. He also has experience leading the young Indian team to the Gold Medal at the Asian Games 2023. It is worth noting that, CSK had previously experimented with the captaincy stint by naming Ravindra Jadeja as skipper. But, Jadeja decided to remain solely as a player.
