Indonesia hosted neighbours Cambodia in a seven-match T20I series. The home side won three out of the first four games before Cambodia picked up a win in the fifth T20I to keep the series alive.

The sixth T20I took place on Thursday, November 23 in Bali. Indonesia won the toss and invited Cambodia to bat first. The tourists lost the wicket of No. 4 batter Luqman Butt in the 12th over. With the score at 77/3, Cambodian players refused to continue with the match. The specific reason behind their decision is yet to be known but apparently, it seems that they were not happy with Dharma Kesuma's catch to dismiss Butt.

After Cambodia refused to continue with the game, Indonesia were awarded the match as they took an unassailable 4-2 lead in the series. The seventh and final game in the series was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Butt finished as the highest run-getter in the series. In six innings, he scored 166 runs at an average of 33.20 and a strike rate of 132.80. However, Padmakar Surve of Indonesia was the star of the series as he finished as the second-highest run-scorer with 160 runs from five innings at an average of 53.33 and a strike rate of 188.24.

On the bowling front, Ketut Artawan from Indonesia finished as the leading wicket-taker with six wickets from five games at an average of 10.33 and a strike rate of 10. Compatriots Maxi Koda and Danilson Hawoe picked up five wickets apiece in six matches, and so did Cambodia's Shah Abrar Hussain.

The two teams played some fantastic cricket during the series. It was quite unfortunate that the series didn't end as it should have. Cricket fans would hope whatever tension that developed between the two Asian sides during the series subsides in the days to come. The sport has been taking massive strides in recent times and trying to spread its wings like never before. The beauty of the sport will get all the more enhanced with the involvement of teams like Cambodia and Indonesia.
