'Can do Thumbs Up together as well for Allan Border' - Venkatesh Prasad's savage dig at Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne

Ahead of the second Test between India and Australia, veteran Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad mocked Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne taking a cue from famous Australian player Allan Border. After thrashing Pat Cummins and Co. in the series opener in Nagpur, the two sides will now play the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy game in the national capital Delhi.

Rohit Sharma & Co. will attempt to gain a 2-0 lead in the forthcoming match at the renowned Arun Jaitley Stadium as they enter the second Test of the four-match series with a 1-0 lead in hand.  Australia's top two batters, Smith and Labuschagne, were spotted training together in the practice nets as they prepared for the highly anticipated match in Delhi.

The images of Smith and Labuschagne teaming up to bat in the nets ahead of the second Test quickly went viral on social media. After seeing the tweet, Prasad made fun of the batting pair by bringing up Border's inflammatory remark about Smith after Australia's humiliating loss in Nagpur.

We’re even giving someone thumbs up…bloody hell: Border

Australian great Allan Border launched a savage attack on batting ace Smith after the top order batter gave Ravindra Jadeja thumbs-up after one of his deliveries during the Nagpur Test. Smith gave Jadeja a thumbs-up in appreciation for his beautiful bowling, and Jadeja ultimately got the crucial wicket of Smith later in the innings.

“Play with a harder edge. I mean, we’re giving blokes the thumbs up when they’re beating us outside the off stump. What the hell is going on? That is just ridiculous. Don’t go stupid, but Australia play hard nose cricket. We’re even giving someone thumbs up…bloody hell,” Border had said.

Jadeja was at his best in the first game, as after picking up a five-wicket haul in the first innings, he scored 70 runs off 185 deliveries while forming a crucial 88-run stand with Axar Patel towards the end. Jadeja picked up two more wickets in the second innings, taking his tally to seven, and claimed the Player of the Match award as India defeated Australia by an innings and 132 runs.
