The Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus hosted a special reception for the Bangladesh cricket team at his Tejgaon office on September 12 to celebrate the team's historic 2-0 Test series win against Pakistan, last month.
The atmosphere was electric as Professor Yunus welcomed the cricketers, his face beaming with pride. He shared his experiences as an advisor and ambassador at the Paris Olympics and also announced that he is invited to serve a similar role for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, Italy.
"I spoke to the captain after the victory but I was eagerly waiting to meet you all personally and congratulate you on behalf of the nation," said the Chief Adviser while addressing the players.

Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, praised the team for their timely success, hinting at the broader impact of their achievement on the nation's morale. National team captain Najmul Hossain Shanto expressed his gratitude to Professor Yunus.
After this historic win, the side will be once again on the road and will next take on the mighty Indians in a two-match Test series, starting on September 19. BCB announced the 16-member squad today. Interestingly, left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam has been ruled out citing a groin injury.
