Legendary England captain Kevin Pietersen said fatigue could be a reason behind Australia’s poor start in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 after the five-time champions lost their matches against India and South Africa, respectively. Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar reviewed the World Cup match between India and Pakistan scheduled to be held on October 14 in Ahmedabad.
Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez was alarmed to see the alterations made to the field in Chennai for the match on October 13. e raised questions about the variations in the Chepauk pitch for two games between India and Australia and Bangladesh versus New Zealand. Aakash Chopra, a former India opener, responded by claiming that the fields in Chennai's square are built with different soil, Red-Black and mixed. He added that the pitches will react very differently at the same location during the tournament because they are created with various soil components.
Here are some posts:
Aus taking a bit of heat on my timeline. When a team has been on tour for months and months with core players involved in all forms, it can lead to fatigue. Aus have been on the road since May/June.

When we used to play a CWC after being in Aus for an Ashes summer, we had same.

Brother, the square at Chennai (and at many other stadia in India) have pitches made with different soil now. Red-Black and mixed. As you’d know…pitches made with different soil component will play differently. Therefore, don’t be surprised if the pitches behave radically… https://t.co/FNaM3cIghy

That’s true. Gadkari Ji is doing a fab job. Four lane-five lane highways. Very good, I agree. 🙌 Good infrastructure is important for a nation’s development….and you can see how both India and Pakistan have developed since independence. Saath mein hi toh azaadi mili thee… https://t.co/PPZJYrW7xo

I usd to employ the hook; pull; sweep and reverse sweep because I couldnt drive very well; especially against spin bowling. Apparently I still don't drive too well. Such a helpful man, S.K. Yadav, and an asset to his community #driveontheroad pic.twitter.com/bgP26MPhqm

The #CWC2023 is a marathon and not a sprint.
— Kevin Pietersen🦏 (@KP24) October 13, 2023
Jogging through the group stages(getting enough wins to qualify) with a few cramps and injuries, is all that’s required.
Then, it’s time to pick up the pace and sprint mid November.
Bats and Banter continues with HSBC Premier! A live mid innings exclusive with Chaminda Vaas and a special screening of Sri Lanka Vs Australia at The ColomBar - Cinnamon Lakeside on Monday, 16 Oct 2:00 pm onwards.
