In a remarkable display of power-hitting, Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee registered his name in the history books during the ongoing ACC Premier Cup 2024 tournament. During Nepal's Group A clash against Qatar at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman, Airee achieved the rare feat of hitting six sixes in a single over.

He became only the third player after legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and West Indian icon Kieron Pollard to accomplish this milestone in the shorter format of the game.

The historic moment occurred in the 20th over of Nepal's innings, when Airee took on Qatar's Kamran Khan and started a blistering onslaught. Starting the over on 28 off 15 balls, with Nepal on 174 for 7, Airee smashed the medium pacer Khan for sixes off each delivery. This allowed Airee to finish on 64 runs from 21 balls and took Nepal's total to 210 for 7. His innings included three boundaries and seven sixes.

Airee's exceptional innings did not stop there. Earlier in 2023, he had set another record by hitting the fastest fifty in T20 cricket, shattering the long-standing mark held by Yuvraj Singh. This latest achievement in the ongoing ACC Premier Cup has further cemented Airee's reputation as one of the most explosive batters in the world of T20 cricket.

Earlier in the innings, opener Aasif Sheikh also played a crucial knock of 52. But in the end, it was Airee's power-hitting masterclass, that placed them in a comfortable position. Currently, Qatar after six overs has scored 56 runs and already lost two wickets. With this remarkable achievement, the Nepal batter has earned himself a lot of praise and appreciation.
