England's white-ball captain Jos Buttler has officially changed his name to "Josh Buttler" after over a decade of his name being mispronounced and misspelled. The England Cricket Board (ECB) announced the name change in a humorous video posted on its official social media handle.

Buttler, 33, has been one of England's most consistent performers across formats for years. However, the wicket-keeper batter has had to endure the frustration of people getting his name wrong throughout his career. Even his mother has spelled it incorrectly on birthday cards, and shockingly, his MBE medal had the wrong name engraved. Notably, his MBE medal had his name misspelt as "Josh."

"Hi there. I’m England white-ball captain Jos Buttler. But for my entire life, I’ve been called the wrong name, From people on the street to my mum and in my birthday card. Dear Josh, you’re getting old. Happy birthday. Lots of Love, Mum," Buttler was heard saying in the video released by ECB.

After representing England for over a decade across all formats of the game and winning two World Cups, Buttler emphasized on fixing the problem for once and all to end the name confusion agony. Besides, the comical video ends with the producer calling him "Jos" instead of "Josh," prompting Buttler to throw his pen in mock disgust.

"So after 13 years representing my country and two World Cup wins, it’s time to finally fix the problem. To solve the problem once and for all, I am officially Josh Buttler,” Buttler said in a video released by ECB.

“Okay guys, that’s a cut. Thanks, Jos!” said the producer.
